This is a short poem I wrote about freedom. It’s inspired by Chris “Alexander Supertramp” McCandless who ventured into Alaska trying to find it. Jack Kerouac who searched for meaning on the road for years. And Laura Dekker who sailed around the world at the age of 14 looking for independence.
Freedom – Worth more than any amount of money.

Starting up the trails from the Mexican border
Heading north,
North to Alaska.
Alaska.
Freedom to live
Freedom to die
Hiking up the mountains
Long days and nights,
looking,
waiting,
to find something,
IT.
Freedom to live.
Freedom to die.
Set sail from the centre of the madness,
Piercing the waves for months and years;
All around the world.
Growing up.
Guppy.
